Caught sight of that Toronto Prorogation Protest against our Conservative Party Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s decision to suspend Parliament.
It’s just a taste of what’s to come on Saturday, when thousands are expected to gather at rallies across Canada to protest the shutdown of Parliament, said Walied Khogali, who helped organize the demonstration.
“We just want to send a clear message that we are watching and we do care, and our MPs are accountable to us, not to any specific political party or to any elite,” said the 25-year-old university student.
“We want them back to work.”
Managed to catch a good shot of a pretty fat looking squirrel who scored a big piece of a pizza crust.
The squirrels have it good in Toronto!
Look at the little porker…! It was the size of a small kitten.
Saw a house sticking to its no-McMansion policy on the way to Little Italy
It was dwarfed by two very large homes.
Little Italy
Wandered around Little Italy, and found two interesting gift shops selling things like funny retro cards, gorgeous journals and daybooks, magnets, joke gifts, beautiful independent artisan jewellery, gorgeous bags, soaps, perfumes..
IVORY PARADE sells Samsara (by Matt & Nat) bags, and a whole host of other things.

Plus, I managed to snag shots of a few signs:
It didn’t make any sense to me at first when BF started laughing, but apparently “bite” in French (pronounced “beet”) is slang for penis.
Heh.
Smart sign.
Stupid sign.
Although I really shouldn’t be surprised.
Apparently students are putting smiley faces and writing “cuz” in substitute for “because” on their ACADEMIC papers.
Read all about their grammar and spelling atrocities here.
Note: I am not saying I am the Queen of Grammar and Spelling, but this is a blog, not an academic paper, and if you don’t know how to switch it on and write for an academic paper then there is something seriously wrong.
Creative sign.
And for the last random bits, I found this gorgeous mosaic near a Little Italy cafe:
And saw two accidents on the way home
One, was with a car completely on fire, up in flames.
I only hope no one was hurt in that accident.
(See that little bright orange spot just under the bridge near the fire? It was an entire car flaming)
The other, was a car that was clearly going too fast or not paying attention on the road.
It was a clear, sunny-but-not-too-sunny day on the highway, with barely any cars on the road.
Maybe he/she was sexting.
I hope no one was hurt in this accident as well.
This is why I am a Grandma behind the wheel.
I do a full stop at every stop sign and red light, I am overly cautious when it comes to swinging my car out to join a lane, and I always signal and try to keep a good safe 2-car distance between myself and others on the highway.
Sometimes, I even turn off the radio to concentrate on the road.
It goes without saying that I’d never even think about making a phone call, text or sext while driving!
(Get your mind out of the gutter! I don’t sext.
)
This was our view on the way out of Toronto.
I love seeing these art deco, Chrysler-like apartment buildings when we arrive into Toronto.
But I am sad to see them on our way out.

I LOVE black squirrels! The area that I live in has them along with the regular brown ones – and sometimes they mix! They were brought here by a guy back in the day because he liked them and now they run rampant in this area. Every year they have a Black Squirrel Festival!
You know, I was on the way home from work the other day and there was a car flipped upside down. I mean, it wasn't even on the interstate – it was on a four-lane 35mph highway (55 kph)!

Hey now! I'm from Toronto and LOVE the Splish Splash sign myself. In fact, I was in Little Italy this past Saturday – stopped into the Diplomatico Cafe for a cappuccino before some overpriced house hunting!
Loved this post – always enjoy seeing this gorgeous city in pictures.

OMGOSH! that squirrel looks so much like my cat. I'm not kidding – I've never seen a black squirrel (albeit a fat one) but I always call my cat a "black squirrel" because of her tail. I had to send that photo to my fiance and he just started cracking up! Thank you for taking a picture of that pizza crust loving squirrel!

[...] And last but not least – this picture of a black squirrel chowing on a humongous pizza crust. I sent this to Julian and said “who does this remind you of?” Immediately he knew who I was talking about – Pepper, my black cat. She has the fluffiest tail and I always call her a black squirrel, despite having never seen one. So the fact that this exists makes me very excited. She even has the same MC Hammer/genie pants that Pepper has. I love this! Thank you, FB! [...]
