I am going to try coconut oil on my face. In fact, I've sort of done it but I don't know if the pimples popping up are because of it :\

Coconut oils are definitely the only oil found to reduce protein loss. I rub it through my hair on the second day and let it soak in :)

Thanks for the article -- that's the one I was looking for!

Also, thanks for the tip on Everyday Minerals. I feel like I need to switch... but then again, I use Bare Minerals maybe twice a year, if that. It's just too messy.. and I don't know if it's what's been causing my acne. I'll have to test it out in Europe this summer.

Thanks again Katie :D

Try the coconut oil, it's the best!
I use it for my face and my acne has disappeared (so much for the oil-free hypothesis!) and also use i on the rest of my body. I have been the oil for a year and have replaced the bottle only once (not because it was gone but because I thought it was getting old). it is also the BEST hair treatment. I have waist length hair and it makes it so shiny and soft! http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12715094?itool...
"mong three oils, coconut oil was the only oil found to reduce the protein loss remarkably for both undamaged and damaged hair"

You should also try the Everyday Minerals instead of Bare Minerals. Cheaper, less ingredients (more natural) and works just as good if not better! (I switched over myself.)

I am a minimalist also. I have more makeup than you but less products overall.

Oh, and I also wash my face (and sometimes body) with clay (powdered clay mixed with water in a jar I keep in my shower) and it exfoliates and deep cleans! Super cheap and natural.

Jojoba oil is a good one to use. I like coconut oil so far :)

If you think that Lush products are uber eco-friendly, they are.. but not the eco-friendliEST of everything out there.

I see a lot of parabens, sls...

I'm definitely a minimalist when it comes to products!

For my face I use a Lush cleanser, diluted apple vinegar as a toner, jojoba oil as a moisturiser, and sunscreen.

For hair I use apple vinegar instead of shampoo, and jojoba oil instead of conditioner and products. And I'm thinking of getting a Lush treatment as well (my hair is naturally really dry). I used to spend heaps on expensive products but this works just as well.

I'm not big on makeup either and don't usually use it during the day (most of my makeup products should probably be replaced since I've had them for so long!)

I'll have to check it out then. Thanks for the recommendation!

I've found Lush products to be too fragrance-y in the past, but maybe it won't be a problem this time.

Hey, re: looking for a more natural cleanser - Ultra Bland by Lush is the best one I've come across - it feels heavy when you first put it on, but it comes off easily, leaving your skin feeling amazing. It's about $15-20 AUD, which is not cheap, but is hardly expensive, considering how little you need at a time. Also, natural as anything.

Going to have to try Olay Quench Therapy. I've struggled with Eczema for years and have only found steroids (not an ideal situation) to be the only thing that really clears it up for me.

I agree with that. Hence the switch to shea butter and coconut oil.

Thanks for the link to the shea butter!

I like all-in-one products that I can also eat :P

You know what, you need to come visit me and do my makeup...

I am just not as advanced in makeup and it's probably why I don't wear much or have much :)
