my hodgkin's lymphoma is likely linked to mono. 50% of hodgkin's lymphoma patients report having mono and i had a particularly bad case, it was the only time i ever had to stay in the hospital. i have no doubt that it mutated me.

The idea that a beautiful face is down to mathematics is actually a VERY old concept. The idea is called the "golden ratio" where the perfect ratio between to objects in approximately 2/3rds (the actual golden ratio is an irrational number, but 2/3rds is close enough).

I makes a lot of sense in photography. If you're shooing a horizon you want 2/3rds of the image to be sky/earth and the other 1/3 to be the opposite. Too much or too little of one or the other and the photo never looks just right.

The concept was loved by mathematicians during the Renaissance as well as architects and painters.

Many building were designed based on golden ratio during the Renaissance and it is hypothesized that the beauty in DiVinci's Mona Lisa is because her face is made using the golden ratio.

This site demonstrates the concept:
<a href="http://library.thinkquest.org/trio/TTQ05063/phibeauty3.htm" target="_blank">http://library.thinkquest.org/trio/TTQ05063/phibe...</a>

I guess the moral of my comment is just to say that mathematician have been trying to prove for centuries the formula for beauty. =)
