What would your superpower be?

Watched the X-Men Trilogy lately, and got to thinking:

What would my dream super power be?

I asked BF and he immediately said: “To fly like a bird.”

I’d like to fly too, but how cool is Professor X’s powers of being able to read and influence minds?

HOW COOL IS THAT?

profx

Or the girl that walks through walls?

Or being able to heal immediately from any wounds?

Or being able to control magnetic fields around you?

Or to be able to control one of the elements? (Storm is so hot.)

At last, I think I’d like to be able to fly AND read/influence minds. Best of both worlds.

And you?

I would love to be invisible, or at least have an invisibility cloak like Harry Potter. But then, I'd have to find a way to get to a place where being invisible is worth it. Like a Gossip Session. Or when I have to pay for something. LOL.

Good question. I think mine would be the ability to manipulate everbody's minds within a 1000 mile radius. Mwhahaha.

I would choose to have a combination of Professor Xavier and Nightcrawler's abilities!

Although, a few halloween parties ago… I went as the movie version of Wolverine. My wife went as Storm.

    We had an Awesome time!

I always say to be able to freeze time. Then I can get whatever I want done and never be late. :-)

I totally want to have Lady Deathstrike's healing factor and claws from the second X-Men movie. Reading minds would be too much for me, I think. Or to be able to go super fast like Quicksilver. Oooo the possibilities!!

I think it'd be cool to be a shapeshifter, or to have healing powers. I would probably be okay with having super strength too. Those are my picks, in that order. :)

I don't know what I would want, but I don't think I would want to be able to read minds. I couldn't imagine walking down the street and being able to pull information from others. I have enough going in my own head as it is; I definitely wouldn't want all the thoughts in the world pushing in on my brain!

Besides, it's annoying enough listening to what comes OUT of mouths on the TTC – if I was getting the rest of the story, I'm sure that would ruin me!

All joking aside, there are a lot of times when I don't think I actually would WANT to know what was going on in someone's mind, and I wouldn't want to act like God, being that omnipotent, all-knowing person, who is capable of influencing decisions. What if your influence backfires and you cause a situation that is worse than it could be?

There are so many powers I'd want to have, but one that comes to mind is the ability to teleport! That way I'll never be late for anything, I wouldn't have to worry about paying for parking, and if I felt like taking a quick vacay to Hawaii or Paris I wouldn't have to pay for a plane ticket (or deal with the long flight either!) And if I was being super bad, pop in at the Chanel store and 'borrow' a bag heh.

I'd like to be able to heal immediately after any wounds. Like Wolverine. That would be awesome!

If I could have a super power it would be to be able to speak any and every language on earth. This would be the most incredible super power and would allow you to travel anywhere and be able to communicate with everyone.

I would totally pick reading and influencing minds. People think I do that anyway (I'm a psychologist) so it would be nice to be able to actually do it ;)

I live in Auckland. So teleporting would be AWESOME.

I'd also like to be able to influence others, for sure – although I guess that could get a bit boring after a while, you know?

I'd also like to be able to learn things and pick up new skills instantly – that would be handy as.

Or to conjure up anything I wanted….I like the sound of that one :)

This one is tough! I'd probably most enjoy the power of invisibility. I often wonder what people do when I'm not around them. For instance, what D does while I'm in class or at work. Or what that thumping is from the apartment next door. Or what my coworkers are saying behind closed doors. Hehe. :-p

I’ve always thought it would be amazing to be able to teleport. Imagine the money and time you’d save! No transportation costs or waits. Yes please.

I'd want Mimicry, like that one girl on Heroes. She could watch someone do something (karate, or play the piano, or carve a radish into the shape of a flower) and then suddenly was able to do it.

I am loving the idea of being able to mimic skills (as posted by another commenter)

Like seeing or hearing a skill and being able to speak the language perfectly, or do whatever they do perfectly.

    TELEPORTING!

Also another awesome skill. We could vacation for the day and come back, sleep + eat.. and go back to Paris the next day ;)

Good one. But what would you do with all the money after? :) Money to me, is easy to get… versus mimicry or other things that could make you money and be cool at the same time.

Absolutly flying / teleporting. I love to travel. And I also love swing-sets on the playground because if you lean all the way back and let your head hang, it's kinda like flying – I think.

  37. Emma
    on Nov 30th, 2009

And even teleport past any and all lines to get inside places, so you won't have any wasted time!

I like this idea. I'd love to wake up and teleport to work instead of cramming onto the TTC with all the sick people (but I'd probably need to work out more, since I'm sure I would get really lazy with the speedy teleporting transit!)

Mystique is incredibly hot :) Especially since she’s been played by Rebecca Romijn!!!
