I’m off to see the Taxman…

COMMENTS: 17 Comments

Just got a notice in the mail from Quebec saying I didn’t pay the $5600+ I owed them in business taxes?

WHAT!?!?!

I saw that money debited from my account. I want to clear that up, and there’s a small discrepancy of around $12.

Grabbed my comfy white blazer sweater and some basics. Am going to try out my new jeans today ;)

Close up of the jewelery.

I don’t have time to fuss through my collection to find a longer necklace that I think would look better with the top.

*sigh*..

    My friend (who happened to be L.L. from Destination Hell… blog) had the same thing happen to her! The tax man said she owed them in back taxes because she didn’t file. In the end I think they owed her money (or it was something small she had to repay).

    Last year, I got a notice of non-payment. When I called the state tax office, the woman said, “Oh, the computer makes a lot of mistakes, Most of the notices are incorrect. Don’t worry.”

    Very worrisome!

    Look at you fabulous girl! Who cares about the tax man when you’re wearing this great outfit!

    I think you should change your blog name to Fabulously Fashionable in The City. No? Okay, I know, kind of cheesy but it was just a thought. Love the outfit posts your doing. You’re inspiring me to do some of my own.

    Also, do you use photoshop for you pictures or another photo editing program? I’m looking into getting a new one and was wondering what you’re using.

    @Stephanie: @Chelsa Bea: Maybe I’ll just do a spin off mini blog area for these fashion posts…

    :) Fashion on a budget? haha.. I’ll have to think about what to write!

    So far, Etsy is the best for jewelery that I’ve found if that helps

    @Michelle: So annoying. They have no idea what they’re talking about.

    @frugalscholar: Yep, that’s what they said. That the notice came after I paid but the system didn’t know..

    Me: how could the system NOT know? I paid 2 months in ADVANCE before you even MADE the darn notice

    @Onada: @Small Budget Big Style Chick: Thanks!

    The boots will keep you ready for some tax man ass kicking, should they not decide in your favour. :P

    FB, that blazer is to die for. So jealous. I need one.

    Speaking of Etsy, I came across the most adorable fingerless mittens. Oh. So. Cute. Talking about Etsy reminded me of them…. Ugh, but I’m banned from clothes because of October. D: (New coat, new cocktail dress, new *cough*designer*cough* bag, a car t-shirt AND $20 at wet seal on accessories. I was a bad, bad, bad fox.)

    Funny thing is, now that I bought my super cute winter coat, winter went bye-bye and we’re back to the 60’s and 70’s. *face palm*

    @Amanda: They screwed up in the system and had to apologize. I’m just irritated I spent time going downtown for BS.

    @evita nuh: Thanks.. I am in love with them!!

    @Jessica: Well the total was $14,000 the other $8k went to Canada. But Quebec took $5k and I saw it out of my account.

    @eemusings: Hee hee thanks!

    @Foxie: I bought the blazer as Esprit 2 years ago on a sale.. I have it in grey too. If you have a Jacob around you in the U.S. (I doubt it..), check them out — they have similar styles for sale this year

    PICS? PICS? :)

    @Abigail: Thanks :D

    That’s the coat I bought. ;) I hardly like to pose for pictures, though some may turn up when I get to wear it more.
