Can you name these logos?

Check out this awesome logo quiz from Sporcle.

logo-quiz

I got 29/31 on the quiz.

I missed:

  • Prudential Financial
  • Safeway Inc.
  • Chevron Corporation
  • Boeing
  • Guinness (I don’t drink…)
  • Sprint Nextel
  • Anheuser-Busch (Again, I don’t drink.)

For the record, I am not American… but I still recognized a lot of American brands, being so close to the border.

It’s amazing that I can recognize so many brands.

I wonder what that says about me. I don’t watch TV (I watch the shows online, vinny), so I am not exposed to advertisements in commercials.

Even without watching TV, the internet really covers the gamut in your mental logo dictionary.

What a fun game! I felt a fair few of them were kind of US-centric, though. I got about half of them right within 2 min and then called it quits.

It’s amazing how something as simple as a logo can be instantly recognizable! I bet that’s every company’s dream, haha!

I scored 26 – pretty good for someone who lives across the pond.

I think I only did that well because I have been stateside recently. Fun game

Canadian’s recognize more American things than we do Canadian:

    1. We’re inundated by American images – television
    2. 95% of Canadians live no more than 2 hours from an American border.

Wow! I just scored a 26. If the game had spell checker I would have scored higher. I just can’t spell! ;)

That was a lot of fun!

    Wow, I can’t believe I didn’t get Sprint Nextel (I use their service)…

I scored 31/36… I’m an american though, so that was an advantage for me.

    I missed:
    Sporcle Inc.
    Safeway Inc.
    The Boeing company
    Guiness
Sprint Nextel (shaking my head still on this one…)

Within seconds i recognized all but three! I come across these brands in my daily life so even if I wasn’t on the internet in addition to not watching tv, i would still have recognized a lot of these brands.

apparently, I don’t notice branding that much… I only got 20/31. Most of the time, I’d KNOW them… But I couldn’t say what company they were.

32/26 and that’s because I couldn’t spell Anheuser (?). What surprised me was the Marriott one…considering I stay in enough of them, but never really seen that logo.

Sad comment on brands pervasiveness nevertheless.

30/36 for me on that first one. I am American, what’s my excuse? :P Knew I should’ve gotten the adobe one, but I spaced… No surprise I got the beer ones wrong, I hate beer. Only 21/36 on the second, that one I had quite a few I didn’t recognize… Took me a bit to get Yamaha. I knew that one was familiar. :D (No cars missed here! Not even Peugeot.)

I did pretty well. But I now hate you (j/k) because I started taking all the quizzes I saw on that site. Periodic table of the elements, Broadway musicals by character names…oh man, I could spend hours there!

    Fun quiz eh? :)

Some of you did AWESOME. Only missing 3? Wow.

I did recognize some of the logos I didn’t get but couldn’t figure out where I saw them (Guinness being one, as I see papered ads for them in restaurants)

If they don’t affect my life, I don’t recognize them.

That Marriott logo was the hardest for me, but I eventually got it, because I stayed in the Marriott A LOT when I traveled.

This goes to show that your logo and branding has to be crisp and CLEAR to be able to make it easily recognizable by tons of people.

Anything random like an eagle, makes you think “U.S.”, but the actual company name? Ugh.

My job blocked the site as a “Game related site” UGH! I’ll take it later on tonight. With the few that were shown on your page, I got 12! Hope that means I’ll do well.
