Well, I always think my mother runs to help my brother too much (daily phone calls, both ways, etc), but it turns out that he thinks I am the favored child. So he may be jealous of your freedom and –what looks to him–your luxurious lifestyle.

ANyway, I’m in my 50s, so don’t expect the family dynamics thing to ever go away!
