FB Reminder: I am away on vacation right now. This post has been scheduled ahead of time.
I won’t be moderating comments until end of August 2009. Thanks for your patience!
Was watching Sex and the City (Season 4) the other day and I was in that episode where Carrie and the girls talk about their Secret Single Behaviours.
Things that they would do on their own when they were single that they could never dream of doing in front of their partners.
Carrie’s was eating saltines smeared with jelly, standing up in the kitchen while flipping through fashion magazines.
Miranda liked to moisturize her hands and then cover them with Orgazie (?) gloves while watching reruns.
Charlotte’s was to stare at her pores for an hour every night, studying them.
Samantha of course, had no secret single behaviours she would not do in front of any guy.
I wondered what my single behaviours would be, and I just came across a couple the other day
I like to watch Top Chef while eating
I know it sounds like I’m some sort of TV addict (am not, I don’t even own a TV, but I do enjoy episodes of Top Chef), and I really love watching shows about cooking, making food, and hearing the sizzling of the food on the frying pan while I’m munching.
Makes me appreciate my food even more for some reason, and even watching them do taste tests as one of their Elimination Challenges is exciting.
I like having an open candy bar on call
I like open candy bars because I can sneak a block of chocolate here and there, or nibble them throughout the day.
It sometimes bothers people because they don’t like half opened food lying around, or they just feel antsy seeing a half of a chocolate bar being slowly nibbled on during the day. They just feel the urge to finish the whole damn thing or not see it at all.
Organizing my closet as if it’s my own personal store
I absolutely love doing this. Organizing my clothes by type, by colours, by styles, arranging them on the hanger carefully, or folding and refolding things.
I also love playing with my jewelery and arranging it so it looks like a store – necklaces laid out or hung up, earrings sorted by colour or style in their little bead boxes…
I guess it’s not that bad as a single behaviour but you have to factor in that I like to spend HOURS doing this. It’s relaxing. Like therapy.
But I don’t have a permanent closet (am split between 2 homes), so this has since faded as I have less to play with.
