Katie is truly an exceptional writer, and one I have been following for.. oh I don’t know, a long time it seems. Her posts are always on the short side, sweet, and to the point and she always manages to write posts that say exactly what I’m thinking most of the time.
Not only that, she gives fantastic tips for those who are starting to tread the frugal waters in an attempt to lead a more conscious consumption life without making you feel like she’s patronizing you.

This is my new favourite personal finance blog, aside from Ramit’s I Will Teach You to be Rich…
Instead of being quite dry and boring (I do find many PF bloggers have a very impersonal way of writing), he has a bit of English wit, and he writes with a slight personal touch without getting too personal (the way my blog does).
The articles are EXCELLENT. Within a couple of seconds, I found 15 articles I wanted to devour. They are extremely well written, not too long, and very practical.
He preaches what I practice (the Warren Buffett way of value investing), living below your means, working for yourself (he’s a freelancer too), and replacing your active income with passive income.
Some of his best posts are called highlights, but I find these 2 to be good indicators of what kind of writing style you’re going to get from him: How talking about money is like French kissing and Why blogging for money will not make you rich.

This is one of the best ideas for a fashion blog I have ever seen. It just launched recently, and I’m not saying that just because I think the three women who run this blog are great.
It’s because they show you styles like The Bubble Hem, on their three different body types, and tell you how they feel in it, so that you don’t only get ONE body type perspective, but three. Other great articles are How Sizing Works.
I. ADORE. This. Girl. She makes me laugh with what she writes. Case in point:
“I’m sure the neighbours are enjoying my birthday gift a little less than I am–this is payback for all those mornings when I’m sadly nibbling at my Special K or cottage cheese and fruit and can smell the bacon feast being cooked next door. Piano might be noisy but it won’t make you fat or give you swine flu. I win.“
How can you not love her?
Blog Excerpt of what made me feature him:
As someone who has been paying on MY student loans since 1989, I’m just totally sorry. You took the money. Now you gotta pay it back. In the immortal words of Gomer Pyle, “surprise, surprise, surprise!”
“I feel like it’s a real shame that people like me are coming out of college, weighed down by all this debt.” — Austin Light, 24
Hey Austin, I “feel” like it’s a real shame that people invested money in your education with your promise that you’d pay it back … and now you don’t want to because it isn’t convenient to you.
I “feel” like it’s a real shame that people pour their life’s savings into banks that lent money to students who still haven’t grown up enough to realize that their signature on those papers means they DO have to give the money back.
Oh snarky snarky. Love it!!!
