I think it's the best change I've ever made towards being eco-friendlier. I can't imagine going back to what I used before.

This might be strange, but about 5 years ago I bought my first Diva cup. I bought the number 1 version, despite my being over 30, and it worked for the most part, but I leaked on my heaviest day if I didn't get it up in there before the flood. Last year, I realised I had been stupid and somehow was too proud when I made my choice. I mean who the hell is proud of having a tight or slightly looser vagina!?!? Anyway, I purchased the over 30 number 2 version, and it's all good! I think they changed their recipe too, because the silicone is softer and more malleable.

And I prefer the number seven fold for insertion - bend down only one corner after squeezing it together. This creates more of a smaller point-like shape at the end which isn't so demanding when you're concerned about dealing with blood flowing out of you.

I think you need to calculate the time and possible cost it takes to go to the store i.e. some people drive to the store, and as a self-employed person, or not, your time is valuable.

All in all, I've been very happy with it!

I love this little item. I am very athletic. So its a must for runs, hikes, biking or any activity. My body has gotten use to it, so I do not feel it at all after a half a hour.

Hey, I am all for that!

I like using the cup. And the lower TSS risk was another benefit I forgot to mention.

I agree. Except for heaviest day, I only change it 2x a day and then the last day it often stays in for 24 hrs. It doesn't absorb so TSS risk is very, very low. At a pub washroom, just wipe it off as best you can and put it back in!

Whenever possible, I empty it out when I shower - it gets a good scrubbing and I get washed - win-win! I even do it at the gym, making sure I take a stall away from others with the drain in the middle. And its no grosser than using the sink or the toilet to dump the stuff!

When I traveled to Egypt, it was great esp when I went camping in the desert - I only had to empty it once into the hole I dug (vs carting around used pads and fresh pads).

I know this is ages old... but... I'm 33 and haven't switched over to the larger (I'm also childless/childfree/pick your own term). I have yet to have issues. Amoung my friends that use a Diva Cup (or a Keeper), common theory is until/unless you have issues, keep going with the size you have.

Oh, and I'll fess up... many of us leave it in longer than 8 hours often. If it's a very light day, there's really no reason to change it just for the sake of changing it when out in public.
