Fabulously Broke in the City

A quick overview..

I know this may have come out of the blue (well, it was sort of a left field thing for me, as I didn’t plan on really switching to a custom domain or trying to host the blog outside), but the opportunity just arose for me to buy the domain name, and just start organizing the blog on something easier to type into blogs that I comment.

Now, if you go with Blogger to host your custom domain, you only need to buy a domain name. That is IT. Blogger takes care of the rest of it, with hosting it on Blogger itself.

By the way, a domain name, or a custom domain name is something like: FabulouslyBroke.com, which is my new address as of this Friday.

And I am keeping the hosting on Blogger for now, but I just wanted to thank Eric for his offer to help me transition off Blogger completely. If I change my mind (again), I will be sure to take you up on your offer.

If you decide that you want to break free of Blogger, WordPress or whatever else you are currently using, then you will need to also buy a web hosting service, aside from the custom domain name.

In that case, you will need to check out this web hosting site that gives you a whole list of web hosters you can choose from. Some of the deals are pretty good, at $3.95/month for all of this unlimited space and uploading? Web hosting is a big deal on the internet, and this site can help you sort through that if you are interested in hosting your own domain through an FTP.
