If a pair lasting 3-5 years is good quality, then my blue doc martens must be indestructible! I’ve had them, so far, for about 13 years – since about 1995.

Thanks! I’ve found because I drag my feet my shoes last 1-2 years. I wear out the soles. And yes I can resole, But I’m really hard on the shoes. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

It rained here last week for the first time since probably Februray. I saw a girl out in her rainboots. Let me say if you live in Los Angeles, rain boots are NOT a necessary shoe, nor are winter boots, really, but I find them more acceptable.

I liked this, I only wish I could have clicked on the shoes to see how much the were…

Hey, Great post. I found myself comparing Carrie Bradshaw’s shoe clollection with this list and I came up lacking in some areas. Just for curiosity, where do you buy your flats? I wear flats all the time but I’ve never had a pair last more than 6 months. Also, in Tucson, where we get only about 1 inch of rain, I even have a pair of rain boots. They are a life saver during our monsoons!

Ashe: Hmm, regular wear, I can usually make a pair of shoes last 3 years minimum, if not longer

But I do find that if you walk a certain way, the boots last longer and don’t crack or be destroyed as often.

But I tend to be pretty hard on my shoes. I’ve worn my ballet flats that I bought this summer, almost EVERY SINGLE DAY and they’re still going (good quality leather/rubber) and I can imagine them still being okay for another year or two with very heavy usage. If I walked 2-3 times a week, I can get them to last 3 years or 5 years easy

But it all depends on your foot.
