FB’s 1000th Post

HAPPY 1000th POST TO ME!

I’ve hit 1000 post landmarks before (3 times to be exact), but this is especially special (awkward English!), because it’s my REAL 1000th post, because I am not going back to my old posts and deleting or cleaning any of them up.

They’re staying the way they are, and all the images are finally uploaded to Blogger (or other places) so that they WON’T disappear or come up with a red “X” like they have in the past.

As a slight celebration to commemorate my 1000th post, here’s a photo of my second cheque that was deposited last Friday for 2 weeks of work.

Naturally, I only get to keep $8800 out of the cheque because the remainder is actually taxes I owe the government that I charge the client (and collect on the government’s behalf).

$8800 = 80 hours of work

I also have to factor in that I have to be taxed on that again (another 20%?) so in the end, I net around $7040. However, if I take it out in dividends this year, I net even less because I get taxed a second time because it’s dividend income.

Regardless of all the boring, technical tax stuff that no one really cares about —- WOO HOO FOR FAT CHEQUES!!!!!!!!!!!!

…and last but not least

A big huge thanks to all the readers, commenters, anonymous’ers, haters, lurkers and bloggers that have created such an interesting environment for me to actually want to keep blogging about whatever the hell I want to blog about.

I hope you’ll all continue to love my blog as much as I do, and I look forward to ‘meeting’ more of you online and connecting to each other in a virtual network.

Heck, I might even de-”Anonymize” (that is not even English, I know!!!), in the future and start personalizing my blog or at the very least, start meeting some of y’all in person once I move to the States. Who knows? :)

What I do know, is without “you” (collective “you” that is), I would’ve probably shut this blog down a longggg time ago.

Love,
FB

Happy 1000th Post and Happy Big Fat Check! Congrats on both. I have been reading for the past couple months and know how much it means to you to be self-employed. And you seem to be excelling at it which is just icing on the cake. Keep it up!
